Student Employment

The Department of Mathematics hires several students as department assistants, to assist with grading homework for lower level courses. These students, usually numbering around 15-18, grade assigned homework under the professor's grading guidelines, and are also responsible for recording and reporting grades back to the professor several times each semester. Typically applications are accepted in November and April for the next semester. If you think you might be interested in being a grader, contact Dr. Dale Hathaway.

The Math Lab is always looking for qualified tutors for freshmen level mathematics courses. While technically not paid through the Department of Mathematics (the positions are paid through another department), the Department of Mathematics does determine who can be hired. If you think you might be interested in tutoring, contact Dr. Dan Green.
